Gloria Tamerre Petyarre began her artistic career learning batik-making in the 1970s along with her famous aunt Emily Kngwarreye, together with her sisters, Ada Bird, Nancy, Myrtle, Kathleen, Violet and Gina Petyarre.  Gloria produced her first works-on-canvas in 1988 and soon became highly innovative and an acknowledged artist.  Gloria Tamerre Petyarre has continually exhibited her works since 1988 and her works are represented in numerous State Galleries and International collections.
